About Opius

Why I built Opius

Parents today have to juggle between school websites — Schoology, ParentVUE, Google Classroom, TalkingPoints, and more — each platform with its own login, its own layout, and its own way of burying the information you actually need.

When you ask your child whether they have homework, if they're anything like mine, they miraculously never do. The answer was always no. It's not that I don't trust them — it's more like I don't trust their selective memory. So like most parents, I'd have to spend 20+ minutes a night trying to figure out if Reagan really did have homework or assignments coming due. And that's just for one child — let alone checking for multiple kids in multiple schools.

To be honest, most nights I didn't have the time or energy to track homework, missing assignments, grades, and absences, so I didn't even check and things fell through the cracks. All the information I needed was right there at my fingertips — but it was too complicated and time-consuming to track it all down. I felt like a failure.

That's why I built Opius.

How It Works

Three steps. That's it.

1

Connect your school accounts

Add your logins for Schoology, ParentVUE, and other platforms. Credentials are encrypted and stored securely.

2

Ask anything in plain English

Type a question like "Does Reagan have homework?" or "Does Reagan have any missing assignments?" or "What are their grades?" — no menus, no searching.

3

Get an instant answer

Whether it's the Opius website or you texting from your phone, Opius logs into the right platform, finds the information, and gives you a clear, friendly answer.

What Opius Can Do

Everything parents need

Opius is like having a personal school assistant who goes through all the information across all of your school platforms and gives you an answer in under two minutes — sometimes in less than 30 seconds.

Homework & Assignments

See what's due tonight, this week, or what's been missed — across every platform, for every child.

Grades

Check current grades anytime and even compare them to other quarters or earlier in the year.

Attendance Monitoring

Ask about attendance, or choose to get notified about absences and tardies automatically. No more waiting for the school to call — Opius tells you first.

Schedules & Planning

Need to schedule an appointment without missing a test? Ask Opius what's on the schedule for any day or week, whether it's a week from now or months down the road.

Smart Notifications

Whether you have one child or four, Opius monitors grade drops, missing assignments, and attendance issues — and texts you when something comes up.

Study Help & Planning

Need practice problems for a test? A plan to bring up a grade? Opius can create study materials tailored to your child's actual classes.

Multiple Children

Whether you have one child or four, across different schools — Opius keeps track of all of them from one conversation.

Plain English Answers

No navigating menus or decoding school jargon. Talk to Opius the way you'd talk to a friend.

Text Opius from Anywhere

Don't even need to open the website. Just send your question via text and get an answer right in your messages — from home, from work, from anywhere.

Teacher Contact Info

Need to email a teacher? Just ask — Opius will look up their contact information. Opius can even help you draft the email.

Easy to Find

Opius doesn't just tell you about an assignment — it shows you exactly where to find it, the course, the folder, the assignment name.

Private & Secure

Your credentials are encrypted with AES-256. We never see your passwords and never sell or share your data.

In their words

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything parents want to know before getting started.

No—and that's one of the best parts. Opius works right in your web browser or by text message, just like texting a friend. There's nothing to download, install, or update. If you can send a text, you can use Opius.
Opius currently connects to Schoology, ParentVUE, StudentVUE, and TalkingPoints, with more platforms added regularly. It works using the same parent or student login you already have—so there's no waiting on your school or district to sign up. Don't see your platform? Just use the “Request it” button in the “Works with your school” section above, and we'll get working on it right away.
Plans start at $15/month for one student, with family discounts for additional children. Annual plans cover the full school year—summer's on us. And every family starts with a free trial, so you can try Opius before you pay anything. See our pricing page for details.
Yes. Your login details are protected with bank-level encryption (AES-256), stored securely, and never sold or shared. Opius only ever sees the same information you see when you log in yourself—nothing more. You're always in control, and can remove your information anytime.
When you sign up, you can add your phone number. Opius sends you a quick greeting text—and from then on, you can text that number anytime with a school question, like “Does Reagan have any missing assignments?” or “What's the lunch balance?” You'll get a clear answer back in seconds, any time of day. Tip: save Opius as a contact in your phone so it's always a tap away.
No. Opius is built to help kids learn, not cut corners. It creates study guides, practice sheets, and walks through how to solve a problem—but it won't hand over answers to a specific assignment. Parents can still confirm whether work is done; students get help understanding the material.
Homework and missing assignments, grades, attendance, class schedules, upcoming tests and quizzes, teacher email addresses, lunch balances—the list goes on. But Opius does more than repeat what's in the portal: it can pinpoint where your child needs the most help, build a study schedule around specific units, help draft an email to a teacher, explain why a grade dropped, and help plan around important classes so nothing gets missed. Just ask in plain English.
Opius opens to the public this fall, and early access is underway now. Click Get Started to request your access code and you'll be among the first families in—no more struggling through complicated school platforms all year long.

Stop guessing. Start knowing.
